The pioneering Two-year (full-time) Master of Finance and Control
(MFC) Programme was launched by the University of Delhi in the year 1987-88 at
the South Campus when a group of visionaries at the South Campus foresaw challenges
that the winds of liberalization would throw up and envisioned the need for trained
and specialised finance professional. The transformation from the controlled and
regulated economy to the liberalized and globalised one since the early 1990's
brought about a sea change in the Indian financial environment implying both challenges
and opportunities for finance academics as well as professionals.
In
recognition of the emerging challenge and as its response to re-orient the MFC
programme to the unfolding opportunities, the University of Delhi, established
the Department of Financial Studies in 1994. The Department, which is the
first of its kind in India, provides the necessary infrastructural umbrella for
servicing the MFC programme in tune with the requirements of the emerging liberalized
and globalised financial sector of the country. The Department
offers the following programmes: · Two-year (full-time) Master of
Finance & Control (MFC) Programme · Ph.D. Programme
